Clay Center of New Orleans Classes & Workshops

The Clay Center will be closed the following days/times this month:

• March 1-5, all day: Uptown parade weekend, Mardi Gras, and Ash Wednesday
• March 22, 1-5 pm: Closed for our scheduled Glazed & Confused workshop

• Open studio hours are only for individuals who already have some experience in clay and can work without direction.
• Open studio hours are also great for current students who want more studio time beyond their class hours.
• Children ages 14+ may register for Open Studio only with a concurrently registered and attending parent/guardian.

• Firing of work is now included in your payment!
• Clay is not included with your payment, but can be purchased from us onsite. A 25-lb bag of clay ranges from $24 - $39, depending on the clay body.
• If you bring in clay you purchased elsewhere, it must be suitable for Cone 6 glaze firings (called "midrange"). Low-fire clay (cones 06 to 04) cannot be used in our studio.
• If you can't confirm which clay body you have by the manufacturer's product name or number, we will need to test-fire a sample to cone 6 to make sure it won't melt down in our glaze firings.
